Why Fight Back?
We are all in a fight. Deep down we know our strengths and our weaknesses. For most people, the solution and best chance to achieve their health and fitness goals only comes with an integrated approach of exercise, nutrition and support.
For others, cancer treatments often leave the body diminished in function, affecting one’s state of mind and quality of life. Medical studies prove that exercise helps minimize the detrimental side-effects of cancer treatment, aiding in the return to a better quality of life. We help cancer survivors re-establish trust in their bodies and return to daily life as productive members of our community.
One-on-One Individualized Patient Care
At Fight Back Performance and Recovery, every patient is treated as if they are our only patient. Unlike other physical therapy clinics, we are proud to offer one-on-one patient care where you have our undivided attention during your treatment sessions. During your first session, we will work together to establish your treatment plan and tailor goals to your specific needs. Let's get you back to your very best as quickly as possible.
Dry needling is an intervention used for pain-relief and to help restore muscle function. The needle is about the thickness of a human hair and is inserted into muscle and fascia tissues in order to promote healing and maximize movement. Unlike massage or foam rolling, the needle is able to get into the deeper layers of the muscle and provide relief in areas that can't be reached in other ways. We use needles to reduce tension or tightness in muscle which provides range of motion, pain, and muscle activation gains.
Dry needling can be used to treat Achilles tendon pain, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, muscle strains, rotator cuff injuries, headaches, TMJ pain, carpal tunnel, and more. Ask your Physical Therapist if dry needling can help you reach your treatment goals!
Here at Fight Back, our one-on-one treatment sessions allow us to take a hands on approach with our patients. Manual therapy is used to promote movement within a joint or muscle in order to restore mobility and function. This may include the use of massage techniques, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), cupping, dry needling, joint mobilization and manipulation, lymphedema massage, and more. We believe that these manual skills help provide a quick change in tissue restrictions and allows for people to move better and with less pain.
Do you have back pain or stiffness? Spinal manipulation is a skilled technique used by Physical Therapists to address joint dysfunction in the neck and back. Not only does spinal manipulation promote mobility in the limited segment, but relief is also noted in nearby body parts including the shoulders and hips. Often times, manipulation to the spine can reduce pain immediately, as well as provide an optimal environment in which to train muscles to do their jobs as intended. Spinal manipulation is very useful for treating headaches and jaw pain, nerve pain in the arms and legs, back pain, and to promote strengthening and performance.
Physical Therapy may be indicated prior to having surgery in order to help control pain & swelling, and improve range of motion and strength which has been proven to help improve outcomes following surgery. We will also help prepare you for surgery and give you a better understanding of how you can ensure an easy and speedy recovery.
Physical Therapy following surgery can start anywhere from the same day to a few weeks after surgery. Once you've scheduled your operation, make sure to consult with your surgeon on when they want you to begin physical therapy. For ease and convenience, it is recommended to schedule your post-operative care ahead of time. The first physical therapy session doesn't have to be scary. We want to make you as comfortable as possible and teach you ways to reduce discomfort. Treatment goals will be to minimize the adverse effects of the surgery such as pain and swelling as well as to restore normal movement, flexibility and function.
Sports Performance Rehabilitation
Whether you are a weekend warrior or a high school, collegiate, or professional athlete, you deserve top notch treatment to get you back into the game. Our Sports Performance Rehabilitation starts off with an individualized biomechanical screen and movement assessment. This allows us to discover any weaknesses in your movement patterns which can result in injury. We will then put together a customized program to rebuild you better than you were before injury. Our team includes sports specialized physical therapists and performance based personal trainers who will make your transition back to your sport with confidence and ease.
Have you been dealing with chronic pain that just won't go away no matter what you do or try? Pain science education is an integral part of helping patients understand their pain, find strategies to overcome it, and get back to moving confidently. We all have pain for a reason and often times the pain response can become exaggerated by the body and promote a breakdown in the inflammatory cascade (i.e. healing process). Pain does not always equal damage. Let us help you get your pain under control.
Video Gait Analysis
Whether you are a runner looking to get an extra edge over your competition, or somebody who has trouble walking without pain, Video Gait Analysis can help. We record and review 6 different angles to help break down what you are doing right, and what we can do to help you move even better. Walking or running performance is optimized when you move more efficiently. It's time to set a new PR!

TPI Assessment & Training
Titleist Performance Institute’s (TPI) mission is to educate golfers on the Body-Swing Connection™ through its one of a kind ‘TPI Certified’ educational program. This program was developed by founders Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips along with a 52-member advisory staff of industry leading experts in the fields of Medicine, Nutrition, Fitness, Golf, Education and Coaching.
At its core, TPI does not believe in one way to swing a club, rather recognizes there are an infinite number of swing styles, but does stress there is one efficient swing for you. Your efficient swing is based on what you as an individual can physically do. The most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer, because swing efficiency is unique to their body and capabilities. To define and achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. This screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health and a client history.
Once this TPI screening is finished, the results are used to create your customized plan. The plan may include fitness training, physical therapy assessment and treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics, nutrition, mental strategy or all of the above with the end goal being to achieve your most efficient swing. Fight Back is able to leverage not only our in-house experts but also partners with local resources to ensure you have what you need to achieve your most efficient swing and maximize your game.

We empower clients to break free from the “diet” mindset and discover a new approach to healthy, lasting weight management without restrictive or fad diets, extreme exercise programs, or gimmicks. Our goal is to help you create a healthier, happier relationship with food, so you enjoy a healthy lifestyle that lasts a lifetime vs chasing the latest fad diet or eating program.
Athletes often have very specialized nutritional needs and our sports nutrition counseling helps all levels of athletes, from the novice and weekend warrior seeking the basic fueling strategies, to the professional intent on maximizing performance and recovery.
Information about nutrition during and after cancer treatment is one of the most frequently asked questions from patients with a cancer diagnosis. Cancer survivors often have questions and experience general confusion, about food choices, physical activity, and dietary supplement use to improve their quality of life and survival. There are many diets and nutrition programs that cancer patients are exposed to. Our qualified dietitians can help you create an individualized, yet practical evidence based dietary plan for you. They can also help you navigate all the “cancer diets, as well as promoted “cancer cures” and create a plan taking into account your current exercise regimen, your medical requirements and your stage of cancer treatment and recovery.
