Dry Needling

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an intervention used for pain-relief and to help restore muscle function.  The needle is about the thickness of a human hair and is inserted into muscle and fascia tissues in order to promote healing and maximize movement. Unlike massage or foam rolling, the needle is able to get into the deeper layers of the muscle and provide relief in areas that can't be reached in other ways. We use needles to reduce tension or tightness in muscle which provides range of motion, pain, and muscle activation gains.

Dry needling can be used to treat Achilles tendon pain, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, muscle strains, rotator cuff injuries, headaches, TMJ pain, carpal tunnel, and more.  Ask your Physical Therapist if dry needling can help you reach your treatment goals!

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy

Here at Fight Back, our one-on-one treatment sessions allow us to take a hands on approach with our patients. Manual therapy is used to promote movement within a joint or muscle in order to restore mobility and function.  This may include the use of massage techniques, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), cupping, dry needling, joint mobilization and manipulation, lymphedema massage, and more.  We believe that these manual skills help provide a quick change in tissue restrictions and allows for people to move better and with less pain.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal Manipulation

Do you have back pain or stiffness? Spinal manipulation is a skilled technique used by Physical Therapists to address joint dysfunction in the neck and back.  Not only does spinal manipulation promote mobility in the limited segment, but relief is also noted in nearby body parts including the shoulders and hips.  Often times, manipulation to the spine can reduce pain immediately, as well as provide an optimal environment in which to train muscles to do their jobs as intended.  Spinal manipulation is very useful for treating headaches and jaw pain, nerve pain in the arms and legs, back pain, and to promote strengthening and performance.

Pre-/Post Operative Rehab

Pre/Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy may be indicated prior to having surgery in order to help control pain & swelling, and improve range of motion and strength which has been proven to help improve outcomes following surgery. We will also help prepare you for surgery and give you a better understanding of how you can ensure an easy and speedy recovery.

Physical Therapy following surgery can start anywhere from the same day to a few weeks after surgery. Once you've scheduled your operation, make sure to consult with your surgeon on when they want you to begin physical therapy. For ease and convenience, it is recommended to schedule your post-operative care ahead of time. The first physical therapy session doesn't have to be scary. We want to make you as comfortable as possible and teach you ways to reduce discomfort. Treatment goals will be to minimize the adverse effects of the surgery such as pain and swelling as well as to restore normal movement, flexibility and function.

Pain Science

Have you been dealing with chronic pain that just won't go away no matter what you do or try? Pain science education is an integral part of helping patients understand their pain, find strategies to overcome it, and get back to moving confidently.  We all have pain for a reason and often times the pain response can become exaggerated by the body and promote a breakdown in the inflammatory cascade (i.e. healing process).  Pain does not always equal damage. Let us help you get your pain under control.
